Conception

Hot Dog Race is a modern, whimsical celebration of my favorite part of summer- the county fair! Every year, along with funnel cakes and rickety ferris wheels, I looked forward to my favorite event- the weiner dog races! There was nothing more fun than cheering on those little doxies in their hot dog buns as they raced for treats. I've reimagined that joy in a minimalist quilt available in multiple sizes.

 

This PDF pattern is a perfect project for beginners or for more experienced quilters who want to hone their skills in traditional and improv piecing as well as bias tape applique. I've included step by step directions, numerous diagrams to illustrate the steps, and organizational charts to keep your project simple and streamlined.

 

 

Creation

Hot Dog Race was designed by hand and on Adobe Illustrator. I used American Made Brand Cotton Solids by Clothworks, Warm & Natural batting, and Aurifil thread.
